Maren Morris, country singer, after performing at a benefit concert to oppose Tennessee’s anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, took her message to Instagram after with a dare for her home state:

“Thank you Nashville, the gorgeous Queens and the LGBTQ+ community for showing up last night. A HUGE thank you … for pulling off the unthinkable at Bridgestone. A lot of healing happened and it won’t be forgotten … I brought my son here earlier today for soundcheck, and he’s turning three this week, and we got to go in the room where all the queens were getting ready and doing their makeup. And he freaked out when he went in there because it’s just magic what drag queens do. There’s wigs everywhere, and the smell of hairspray and wig glue; there’s glitter; everyone’s in a good mood. It’s just like a room of love and yes, I introduced by son to some drag queens today so Tennessee f**kin’ arrest me.” 

This is how it’s done: stand up, speak out, dare the haters to act.

Dennis Prager, conservative podcaster, on banning drag because the Baby Jeebus:

“So, first of all, I personally don’t find it funny. I mean, if it’s a routine, like what was the one, the famous movie, Mrs. What—what was it called? Mrs. Doubtfire, that’s different. It was a middle-aged guy as a dowdy woman. And you know, the travails that ensued, that was a comedy. But in general, drag queen shows are not Mrs. Doubtfire. For many there was a sexual element, certainly for the performers. Would you like to perform in a dress or in a skirt or whatever other women’s clothing would be involved? Hey dumbass? Take a look at movies since movies began and see how many men in  women’s clothes films and TV shows and plays have been made over the years. And I’m sure you’ve seen a lot, but if you haven’t, your loss. But you don’t have the right to tell anyone else in America what they can and cannot see. Oh, and if you follow any of the teachings of the Bible, you best follow them all, you shrimp eating, mixed fabric wearing heathen, because God sees you and She isn't happy.

Kelley Robinson, President of the Human Rights Campaign, wants Republicans who wage war on transgender people to know she sees right through them:

“What I see in front of me is insecure people with power that are doing all that they can to hold onto it. Any time somebody talks about turning the clock back, that's a dog whistle. Whether you want to bring it back to 2015, or you want to bring it back to 1915, or you want to bring it back to 1815, we know what you are saying. You are trying to drag us back. She’s right; the GOP is scared after 2020 And 2022, and terrified of what 2024 might bring, so they ignore their campaign promises and instead use fear and a campaign tool.

I’m not afraid of drag queens or history or books or the LGBTQ+ community or of women choosing to make their own health care choices, and I will never vote in fear.

President Biden, on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II:

We certainly won’t ever see another monarch reign for so long. Was she perfect? No; she made some mistakes and missteps. But while that might have been infuriating,  it’s also what made her human.

Jamie Raskin, Democrat Congressman, agreeing that President Biden is right about Thing 45 and the MAGAts:

“Two of the hallmarks of a fascist political party are, one, they don’t accept the results of elections that don’t go their way. And two, they embrace political violence. And I think that’s why President Biden was right to sound the alarm … about these continuing attacks on our constitutional order from the outside by [Thing 45] and his movement.”

And, since most in the GOP and MAGA movement hear only what they want to hear, neither Raskin nor Biden is condemning the entire Republican party, but rather those who stormed the capitol and those who supported them.

Dennis Prager, conservative radio talk show host, pulling a Thing 45 and saying some slaveowners were nice:

I thought we learned several years ago that racists and Nazis and Klan members and white supremacists are not nice, never nice; this totally smacks of Thing 45’s epic failure after the Charlottesville riots.

Let me make this queer: anyone who bought a human being and forced them into manual labor for their entire lives, including subjugating their wives and children., who kept human beings in chains and enslaved, sleeping on the floors of ramshackle slave houses, raping them, beating them, murdering them, is not a nice person.

Glenn Youngkin, Virginia Governor-elect, on his underage son who twice attempted to vote at the same location in the space of 20 minutes:

“It was silliness, I think. There’s real confusion on where a 17-year-old can vote or not. And so he had a friend who suggested that he might be able to vote. He went up and asked. I know my son is an incredibly respectful young man. He presented his ID and when they said he couldn’t vote, he said okay and he went to school. I am a little bit frustrated that the media is paying so much attention to it. It’s my 17-year-old son and I’d really like everyone to leave my family alone.”

Oh Glenn, you typical hypocritical lying Republican.

Your son tried to vote illegally twice, the second time after being told he wasn’t eligible to vote, so this ‘He didn’t know’ BS is just that. You’re setting quite the tone for your term as governor when you have family members trying to cheat the system and you attempt to ignore it.

Misleading? Huh. You were asked if you had taken the vaccine and you said ‘Yes.” Where, the world asks, was the misleading part? Was it in the lie?

Rodgers then played the victim card and said he “just shared his point of view, and now he’s being crucified for it.” Again, Aaron, you aren’t Jesus  and you weren’t crucified or cancelled, you were called out for being a liar because you were caught in a lie.

Now, as I have been saying to a great many people this week, in the blogs, and in real life, ‘Get the fuck outta here.’

“If we survive this as a free country, historians will just ask, ‘How did this happen? How did people get governed by irrational fears? Whether it is of the non-vaccinated, who are the pariahs of America as I have not seen in my lifetime any pariah group like this. During the AIDS crisis, can you imagine if gay men and intravenous drug users, if had they been pariahs the way the non-vaccinated are?”

I guess Prager forgot the many AIDS patients who died because people feared touching them.

I guess he forgot the AIDS patients whose families kicked them out of their homes and disowned them.

I guess he forgot the conservatives who suggested AIDS patient be put into camps.

Side story: I know a man who was diagnosed with HIV way back in the 80s, and after the doctor gave him the diagnosis and said there really wasn’t much they could do, he got up to leave as the nurses came into the room and scrubbed the chair he sat in and the door knob he touched and tossed out the magazines he read in the waiting room, so Dennis Prager can fuck all the way off.

Liz Cheney, Wyoming GOP Representative, calling the claims that the insurrection was a “false flag operation” perpetrated by liberals to stain Thing 45s presidency:

“It’s the same kind of thing that you hear from people who say that 9/11 was an inside job, for example. It’s un-American to be spreading those kinds of lies, and they are lies.”

Jenna Ryan, convicted Capitol rioter, after being sentenced today to 60 days in prison:

“I’m disappointed that I’m being used as an example in my incarceration. Because I’m a public person and I have a Twitter account, I’m being punished for that. Because the media was doing what y’all are doing right now, I’m being punished for this. And it’s actually causing my incarceration and I think that is a travesty. I think everybody should be able to tweet without being persecuted and treated like crap. So watch what you tweet, because if you tweet, you can go to jail. It’s a free county and I’m allowed to say—you know—it’s free speech.”

Sure, Jenna, you can say whatever you like, though there are consequences; just like consequences for breaking and entering into the Capitol building to overturn an election.

Oh, and let’s not forget that Jenna is not just a traitor, she is also a racist, because just a few months ago she said:

“Definitely not going to jail. Sorry I have blonde hair white skin a great job a great future and I'm not going to jail. Sorry to rain on your hater parade.”
