Bobservations

Over the weekend, possibly while driving on the freeway, we got a small chip in the windshield of the car. By the next day it was spreading so we called to have the windshield replaced. The technician was due to arrive at 8AM so Carlos said he’d get dressed to meet the guy outside.

As he came out of the bathroom, I winced a little, and he said:

“What? There is nothing wrong with these shorts!”

“You’re right, the shorts are fine, but … are they meant to be worn inside out?”

Oy.

Tuxedo has been learning to translate English to cat, but he does have some issues with our language …

If you never thought we had a narcissistic child in the White House, think on this: as he prepared to leave Walter Reed after his hospitalization for the virus he mishandled, _____ discussed pulling a stunt for his “fans.”

He wanted to appear frail at first, but then he would rip open his button-down dress shirt to reveal a Superman T-shirt as a symbol of strength. He ultimately did not go ahead with the stunt because, while  he may act like a fucking five-year-old boy on Halloween, he is not.

I tried to find this lawn sign for our house but couldn’t, so I’ll just share it here, and offer the translation:

Fuck you Maga

Stupid

No More Orange

I like.

From the Pandering to the Queers file comes this story of the _____ Trump campaign’s efforts to appear pro-LGBTQ+ while being woefully inept at that … too.

The campaign held a “_____ Pride” rally in Pennsylvania this week but a copy of the invitation was shared on Twitter and nowhere on it do the words ‘gay’ or ‘LGBTQ+’ appear.

An LGBTQ+ Pride event where you don’t say gay and don’t announce the event anywhere except in the place where they’re holding it while _____ is trying to push through a SCOTUS nominee who may work to overturn Obergefell v Hodges, making same-sex marriage illegal.

Fuck him.

More rightwing homophobia … at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings this week, Senator Dianne Feinstein asked nominee Amy Coney Barrett whether she thinks marriage equality is protected.  Of course, Barrett wouldn’t say, but she chose to use the phrase “sexual preference” … twice … to describe orientation and I waited for Feinstein to challenge that.

She did not, and I was rather pissed off. Sadly, I missed it later in the day when Democratic Senator Mazie Hirono ripped into Barrett:

“Even though you did not give a direct answer, I think your response did speak volumes. Not once but twice you used the term ‘sexual preference’ to describe those in the LGBTQ community. And let me make clear, ‘sexual preference’ is an offensive and outdated term. It is used by anti-LGTBQ activists to suggest that sexual orientation is a choice. It is not. Sexual orientation is a key part of a person’s identity … So if it is your view that sexual orientation is merely a ‘preference,’ then the LGBTQ community should be rightly concerned whether you would uphold their constitutional right to marry. I don’t think that you used the term ‘sexual preference’ as … I don’t think it was an accident.”

I love you, Mazie Hirono.

SIDENOTE: Barrett apologized for using that word but if you are a judge and an ALLEGEDLY highly educated human, you would not use that word in 2020.

_____ held his first Virus Rally in Florida this week, where he threw masks into the crowd, but didn’t wear one. Of course, many in the Superspreader Event also went maskless.

Michael Elizabeth Pence also held a maskless event this week.

When White House Chief of Staff  Mark Meadows stopped to talk to reporters outside the Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing with SCOTUS nominee Amy Coney Barrett and was asked to keep his mask on, he stormed off saying he wasn’t going to talk through a mask.

All these morons, living and working in a COVID-19 Hotspot refuse to wear masks. Why? Because they want to perpetuate the lie to Americans that he’s fine and there’s no need to worry …

Fuck them.

Well well well …they admit to being cheats and liars.

This week the California Republican Party admitted responsibility for placing more than 50 deceptively labeled “official” drop boxes for mail-in ballots in Los Angeles, Fresno and Orange Counties.

Yes, folks in those areas would vote by mail, drop their ballots in the boxes, and then their votes would not be counted because the ReTHUGlican party cheats. And admits to it.

This might be unpopular, but I don’t care … we know that _____ cancelled the next debate because he didn’t want to do lose another debate, even virtually.

Well, after that ABC News asked Joe Biden to do a Town Hall event and everyone cheered, but then NBC News asked _____ to do a Town Hall event and now people are Tweeting #BoycottNBC.

Wrong. If ABC can host Biden, NBC can host _____. If you wish to voice your displeasure, rather than telling people to boycott the network, urge people to only watch Joe.

That’s democracy, people.

Piotr Gruszewski is a delicious Polish sausage, er, um, fitness model who gives good face. And good underwear.

Mazie Hirono: A Member of Congress With Principles

Okay, so while _____ has shut down the government and, after saying he’d take the blame, instantly switched gears and blamed the  Democrats, and while he lied to US troops about the raise they were getting, and then put a freeze on salaries of government employees, suggesting they do chores for their landlords to make some extra cash, one member of Congress … one member … is putting her money where her mouth is; well, she’s not taking her money, I should say.

Democratic Senator from Hawaii, Mazie Hirono, an avid, rabid _____ foe, has pledged to donate the salary she earned during the government shutdown to her state's food banks. And while some on Capitol Hill have suggested their salaries be withheld—keep in mind, it was just a suggestion—Hirono is going a step further:
"More than 2,500 federal workers in Hawaii [80,000 government workers in total] are either furloughed or working without pay during the holidays because Donald _____ shut down the government. As long as Donald _____refuses to reopen the government, I will be donating my salary to Hawaii’s food banks—who serve nearly one in eight Hawaii residents in need.”
Hirono is not new to this kind of gesture, having previously donated her earnings during the government shutdowns in 2013 and January 2018. Gosh, a politician who says something and then actually does it, time and time again; who’da thunk it?

The good news, or the better news, is that when the new session of Congress gets underway, and Democrats assume control of the House, they have vowed not to give into _____’s temper tantrums and bullying.

And it appears that most people in America agree with the Democrats, laying the blame for the shutdown at the feet of the fat man who said he’d take then blame, and then lied … again.

The shutdown has dropped his approval rating to an all-time low, but, thankfully, we have Hirono and the Democrats to fight for us, and federal workers, now.

I Didn't Say It ...

President Obama, being asked if Bill Cosby's Medal of Freedom could be revoked, and then commenting indirectly on the Cosby situation:"

“There’s no precedent for revoking a medal, we don’t have that mechanism, [but] I’ll say this. If you give a woman or a man, for that matter, without his or her knowledge, a drug, and then have sex with that person without consent, that’s rape. And this country, any civilized country, should have no tolerance for rape.”

It's a shame they cannot take the award back, but it was nice to see the President make it quite clear what he thinks about Bill Cosby.
Ted Cruz, Texas Senator and future failed presidential candidate, trying toi kiss two asses — John McCain and Donald [t][Rump — at the same time:

"I recognize that folks in the press love to see Republican-on-Republican violence, so you want me to say something about Donald Trump or bad about John McCain or bad about anyone else. I’m not going to do it. John McCain is a friend of mine. I respect and admire him and he’s an American hero. And Donald Trump is a friend of mine.”

I see it like this: Cruz kisses McCain booty so when he loses his bid for the presidency he can face McCain in the Senate. But he kisses [t]Rump rump in case ... and, yes, it's laughable, [t]Rump gets the nomination so he can schmooze a place in a [t]Rump cabinet.
Either way, Cruz is a loser ... to steal a favorite [t]Rump phrase.
Montel Williams, on Donald [t]Rump’s attacks on McCain's military service:

“Any military person out there right now who can hear my voice, you need to say, right now, to Donald Trump, knock it off. You just crossed a line. If you think you have the right when you never put on a uniform, when your children didn’t put on a uniform. You haven’t fought to defend this country. You think you have the right, to besmirch the character of a true American hero in John McCain. I have never agreed with John McCain’s politics. But I will never EVER EVER besmirch that man’s character. … And for you in any way to… make it appear like he did something wrong? You are besmirching the character of every soldier who has fought for your opportunity to run for president, there, Mr. Trump. … Say what you want about a lot of things, you have no right, whatsoever, to EVER besmirch the character of a soldier who put on a uniform, and you, punked out, and didn’t wear yourself.”

That is all.
Matt Bomer, doing press for Magic Mike XXL, growing annoyed by questions about the “gay community” being harder to please than the general population in terms of movies:

"I don’t know. I mean, why would I ever try to boil down an entire community into a yes-or-no question? Would you feel comfortable if I said ‘Are women harder or easier to please?’… One of the things, I think, you learn from this movie is that everybody is different and it’s all about communication and a dialogue between individuals. Get rid of the labels, get rid of the shame, get rid of the stigmas and just be your most authentic self."

Just because some people are gay doesn't mean we're all the same; or should be thought of as the same. We come in all kinds of shapes and sizes and colors and thought processes, so quit lumping us into one group, with apparently one brain.

Mazie Hirono, the Democratic Senator from Hawaii, on being diverse:

"I bring quadruple diversity to the Senate: I'm a woman; I'll be the first Asian women ever elected to the U.S. Senate; I am an immigrant; I am a Buddhist. When I said this at one of my gatherings, they said, 'Yes, but are you gay?' And I said, 'Nobody's perfect.'"

I think I love her.
