Steve Schmidt, political strategist and co-founder of the
Lincoln Project, on the Cankles Regime:
“[He] has been the worst president this country has ever
had. And, I don't say that hyperbolically. He is. But he is a consequential
president. And, he has brought this country in three short years to a place of
weakness that is simply unimaginable if you were pondering where we are today
from the day where Barack Obama left office. And there were a lot of us on that
day who were deeply skeptical and very worried about what a [Cankles] presidency
would be. But this is a moment of unparalleled national humiliation, of
weakness. When you listen to the President, these are the musings of an
imbecile. An idiot. And I don't use those words to name call. I use them
because they are the precise words of the English language to describe his
behavior. His comportment. His actions. We've never seen a level of
incompetence, a level of ineptitude so staggering on a daily basis by anybody
in the history of the country who’s ever been charged with substantial
responsibilities. It's just astonishing that this man is president of the
United States. The man, the con man, from New York City. Many bankruptcies,
failed businesses, a reality show, that branded him as something that he never
was: a successful businessman. Well, he's the President of the United States
now, and the man who said he would make the country great again. And he's
brought death, suffering, and economic collapse on truly an epic scale. And,
let's be clear. This isn't happening in every country around the world. This
place. Our place. Our home. Our country. The United States. We are the
epicenter. We are the place where you're the most likely to die from this
disease. We're the ones with the most shattered economy. And we are, because of
the fool that sits in the Oval Office behind the Resolute Desk.”
No matter how much gold he gets from Michael’s craft stores,
or how many buildings he demolishes, or aches he builds, or buildings he puts
his name on or parts of the country he literally destroys—reflecting pools and
rose gardens for example—he will never ever be remember fondly or in any
good light by any free-thinking person in this country and around the world.

I fully agree. Should he be removed, the GOP will do the same if regaining power. Take his power away from him. Congress needs to take back all the power it has relinquished over the decades. That includes reform of the SCOTUS. And the democratic voters need to know all that cannot be accomplished in two years.
ReplyDeleteThey are all correct.
ReplyDeleteThe one that hits with most certainty?
E. Jean Carroll. Because she goes to the heart of it. And we know it’s true.
XOXO
My hope is that a loss in November will be enough for a blood clot to break free and take him out permanently. The work that will be needed to repair your country and its repuration in the world will take decades.

From the outside looking in, the state America is in is down to the current president and his whisperers. I thought that what I read about Project 2025 was dreadful, but the reality was way, way worse and there is another 2 years, 2 years in which the current regime could ruin the world, let alone America..
ReplyDeleteWell, all of these quotes just warmed the cockles of my heart, especially Steve Schmidt's. (With E. Jean Carroll a close second. I loved, "He didn't smell so good." LOL!)
ReplyDeleteMy votes are already in. I've done my part.
I like Kendrick Lamar's thoughts. When it all comes down to it you want a country where people "believe in right and wrong—in empathy, kindness". These are traits that The Orange Monster has never, ever shown. I am sure that he thinks they are weaknesses but he is wrong - they are strengths.
ReplyDeleteI too agree with Kendrick Lamar but also don't think impeachment....beside it will never happen and take time in his next two years left. By time they could get him out...his time will be up anyhow.
ReplyDeleteAnd major kudos to Christina Ricci. That is wonderful parenting right there.
All these astute, intelligent statements from good people and still what sticks with me is “He didn’t smell so good.” I admire E. Jean Carroll for never giving up the fight and for giving up so much of her life to make him face justice.
ReplyDeleteI like Steve Schmidt. If he had his druthers, he'd nail this administration to their phony cross. Term limits for everyone!
