Architecture Wednesday: Triangular Home

Welcome to your Tulum-inspired contemporary masterpiece, where innovation meets tranquility in the heart of East Austin. This architectural gem spans 2,104 square feet across three levels, topped with a rooftop terrace that offers a breathtaking panorama of the city's dynamic skyline.

For the thinkers, doers, innovators, influencers, tech workers, and entrepreneurs seeking a home that embodies both style and substance, this residence is a rare find, with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, and a dedicated third-floor master suite, the layout offers space to nurture your ideas and recharge your inspiration.

Step inside to discover a blend of materials such as polished concrete floors on the main level, white oak wood flooring on the second and third floors, custom hardwood cabinetry adorned with antique brass hardware, while the kitchen boasts Brazilian black moon soapstone countertops and a natural gas cooktop; in the primary bedroom, a 6-foot custom concrete soaker tub offers a perfect retreat, inviting relaxation and inspiring creativity.

This home is a showcase of cutting-edge design and advanced technology, with the latest security systems integrated seamlessly throughout. Expansive windows fill the space with natural light, drawing attention to the custom steel architectural staircase, a true work of art. The smart home features offer a sophisticated, futuristic touch that enhances everyday living.

Beyond its walls, the exterior features seamlessly integrate with nature. Hot-rolled steel panels frame the first floor, harmonizing with a clear coat western cedar on other surfaces. The cinderblock perimeter fence offers privacy while creating your oasis of relaxation with a beautifully tiled plunge pool.

This isn’t just a home—it's a bold statement in design, waiting for that perfect match and is unpriced and accepting offers.

  1. This is fab.
From the use of the lot to the distribution of the spaces. It also uses materials very smartly. Love the upper floor.
    Pity it’s in Texas.

    XOXO

    1. I imagine more than one builder turned up their nose at building on that lot, but the one who did created something very cool.

  2. If I had to live here, I suppose I could. It is very well done and love the mix of textures and surfaces. The outside is stunning! I'd be outdoors naked all the time! The place is very fire island I must say.

I still don't like exposed kitchens to other rooms. It bothers me. Otherwise I love this.

    1. Even though our house is all separate rooms I kind of like the loft vibe of that first floor main space.
And I love the wood, steel and glass of it all.

  3. In the bedroom with the green bedspread, it looks like the window is corroding on the hinges. Why leave that window partly open to expose that? Four levels with the roof terrace and no elevator. I like the concept more than the execution.

    1. Wow, what good eyesight you have! I had to go back to the photo and enlarge it to see the window frame.
And you know I'm with you on the elevator.

  5. I kind of like this, though I'd rip out some of the concrete and put in a lawn. It also needs a tree or two to make it less stark.

    1. I don't really mind the lack of lawn since it's a water guzzler, and there are trees around the house, so I like it.

  6. I like this. I have no idea why though. I can see myself falling through the stairs and getting stuck there.

  8. Very cool. Loads of fun. Well done. But not for me. I need walls for art.

  10. That is an interesting property. With three floors, my old legs wouldn't be happy climbing on the daily. Still cool for the right artist.
