I will admit that nearly all of the homes I feature in Architecture Wednesday, most are rather large; it’s not that I love a huge house, I just love what people do with a large space.
And then along comes this home in Maryland; a mid-century modern home that was remodeled from its original 847 square feet to roughly 1700 square.
Yes, that number is right. It’s not a huge house, but man does it feel spacious. Mainly because the clients wanted simple and open and lass and views from everywhere into the wooded hillside lot.
So, it looks like a lot of house, but it’s not … it’s just right.

Loverly views!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS!!!!! This may shock you, but I like a small home that just looks spacious. If this was in the Pocnos I'd never come back. When you can create the illusion of more space in a small home, the is good use of interior design skill.
ReplyDeleteThat bathroom alone is worth the price of admission! This is the kind of house for people who don't have a lot of unnecessary stuff, like clothes and shoes. I have a small house and it looks like hoarders live here. Okay, now I'm more depressed.
ReplyDeletegreat use of glass for an open feel.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby loves midcentury modern and was drooling all the while we were in Palm Springs. We have a Spanish style ranch So mid century modern won’t work well
ReplyDeleteI love the light. It goes great with the dark wood floors. It’s obviously in a great position too. Good choice.

I'd hat to pay for the heating of this house unless it had quadruple glazing
ReplyDeleteGreat size! No need for 10,000 square feet. But I don't find much to like in the furnishings.
