I love San Francisco; I have lived in San Francisco. And if I had the coins I’d be living in this house in San Francisco; in this most remarkable modern oasis that is unlike any home. Located South of Market, and sited behind unassuming concrete walls and doors of steel is a most tranquil retreat. When you walk through the doors you enter into your own never-before-seen private park, a haven of mature trees and lush botanicals. On the left is a set of oversized casement windows, with French doors that open to a dramatic foyer. Inside, soaring wooden ceilings unite adjacent rooms and skylights while three sets of large glass walls visually extend the living space to the verdant outdoors while floors of warm, polished concrete suggest the casual sophistication of urban living. At centerstage lies the living room—accented by a large skylight and a fireplace. At one of the sets of glass casement windows, the dining area becomes al fresco with the opening of French doors. A bright, modern kitchen, with substantial countertops and storage, fuels entertaining lies just behind the living area. A large library or home office or secondary living area is sunlit by a skylight and a third set of large casement windows. At the front of the home sliding doors of frosted glass open to the ensuite bedroom with a fireplace & spa-like bathroom with dual vanities and a glass-enclosed shower. Plus, there is tandem off-street parking for three cars in an oasis in the midst of one of the greatest cities on Earth and at just $4.6M. Now where did I put my checkbook?

One nice lottery win, and I could be very happy there.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful oasis in my favorite city???? I'm all in!
DeleteFantastic.
ReplyDeleteThere is no other word. And a skylight? The winning part for me are those windows and all that green! I like how the took advantage of the house being longer than wider, too.
And I love San Francisco!
XOXO
All that I would need is a subtle fence between the garden and the driveway so the cats couldn't get out of the yard and I'd take it just as it is!
Deletexoxo
That's beautiful, except for the gray. Why does everybody want to be neutral? Can't anyone make a colorful statement?
ReplyDeleteI can! RED!!!! Maybe something more tastefully bright. I know, FUSCIA!
DeleteUm, the color outside the windows, the color of the wooden ceiling, the color of the furnishings and the artwork!!!!!!!
Delete::::aaaaaaaaand scene!!!!::::
Absolutely stunning! Whoever decorated it has impeccable taste and a great eye for design. The green space is ideal. And I love the tasteful exterior that doesn’t really hint at what’s inside.
ReplyDeleteYes, all the things that make me wish I'd had the coins cuz, sadly, it's been sold .... 😭😭😭
DeleteIt's fine except for its location. I dislike San Francisco intensely. I prefer living in Sacramento adjacent Elk Grove. Those plants look like spider homes to me.
ReplyDeleteSan Francisco is my favorite city; I spent loads of time there are a kid, went to college, partied there, lived there, loved there ....
DeleteI also lived in Sacramento, Duchess!

A few thoughts:
ReplyDelete*The local is not my favorite. The weather is a little bit on the chilly side for me. I love temps, at times, a little higher. The average daily temperatures for SF are from 45 degrees to 72 degrees. Don't get me wrong, I love San Francisco. And just not for the gay environment.
*I love the idea of the plain, no assuming front of the home, and you open the front gate and enter into an oasis. I love it. Does a gardener come as part of the closing contract? I love it. Great setup for outdoor living.
*There is nothing I dislike about the interior. I could easily put my personality on the place.
*My question is the tandem parking reserved with signage? I lived in DC and finding parking, at times, close to my apartment was a challenge. I have been known to park at least a block away. Just be careful of the Secret Service. If there is a neighborhood gathering of the well-to-do, the SS will tow your car and park it anywhere. I have encountered more than one person roaming Capitol Hill looking for their vehicle.
San Francisco can do no wrong, other than the cost of living ... it has every single thing I would ever need.
DeleteLook in the top picture and you'll see the garage door leading to the private parking!
OK----I see by the last picture the cars are parked INSIDE the compound----I never liked tandem parking but I can work with it----I can park first----And my guests can park behind----
Deletelove this nice arrangement of spaces
ReplyDeleteThis is so me, but with money!!!
DeleteDramatic.
ReplyDeleteThe gardens sold me ... and then the house and, well, San Francisco sold me first!
DeleteI live in SF, and my first thought is”hard to heat in our many foggy chilly windy days.” The coins involved would have to include solar panels and a PG&E allotment.
ReplyDeleteBut I imagine if you can afford the house, you can afford the bills???
DeleteBeautiful house
ReplyDeleteIsn't it?
DeleteI don't like the layout but oh, how the garden really makes the house.
ReplyDeleteI love it all, this is one of my favorites.
DeleteI love this! Amazing what’s behind those walls.
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteI'm the oddball here. It wouldn't be for me, but I'd come visit. I've only been in San Francisco once and would return in a heartbeat. There is so much to see and do. (I do love the gardens though).
