Bobservations

This morning we watched GMA while eating breakfast and they aired an ad for the CMA Awards tonight, calling it the biggest event in country music, and I said to Carlos:

“They call every country music awards show ‘the biggest event in country music’.”

And he replied:

“It’s all barbeque and square dancing and shirts with embroidered flowers and tight jeans and big belt buckles and trucks with giant tires.”

I didn’t know he knew so much about country music …

This Tuxedo Says is from Locked Down May 2020:

“Leave it to The Great Tuxedo—Carlos hates that I call him that—to put things into a Gay Perspective ….”

In big news, Casa Bob y Carlos is officially paid off. Yes, we paid off our mortgage last week and now completely own the homestead.

Maybe we should move?

Something for y'all to ponder: if Santa really knows when we have been naughty or nice, then he knew that Rudolph was being bullied and he did nothing about it.

Villa Vie Residences, a residential cruising line, launched its “Tour La Vie” offering travelers a customized journey for up to four years, to “skip forward,” and avoid The Felon’s second term. It’s just $40,000 per year— food, drinks, Wi-Fi, and housekeeping are included—and you will visit 425 ports across 140 countries.

Any takers?

Yesterday, Susan Smith  who was convicted of murdering her two sons, three-year-old Michael and 14-month-old Alexander, in 1994 by strapping them into their car seats, and rolling her car into John D. Long Lake right here in South Carolina, was denied parole after serving nearly thirty years in prison.

At the time Smith claimed that a Black man had kidnapped her sons during a carjacking.

I do not believe in the Death Penalty ever, but I do think Susan Smith should never be allowed to walk free again.

Someone Tweeted this out in the wake of the election:

"Matt Gaetz, Tulsi Gabbard and Marco Rubio are in a rowboat that’s sinking in the middle of a lake. You can only save one of them — who would you choose?"

Henry Winkler, The Fonz in the '80s sitcom Happy Days, gave the best answer:

"The boat."

Snap.

Warren Zeiders is an American country music singer and songwriter ... I sense a mini-theme today ... but this is really: Would You Hit It?

Programming note: I have axed myself from the X as it has grown more and more hate- and lie-filled, and I have moved myself over to Bluesky.

  1. "“skip forward,” and avoid The Felon’s second term." You have me...I'm in!!!!!! Now will Warbucks foot that bill to help me compensate that? I'm mean... it's for my mental health, no?

And Carlos never fails to surprise and delight. And I don't recommend the glitter, with ten friends. It's hell getting it all off the sheets.

    1. It's not terribly expensive to sail for four years, just 160K, so ... ?
Carlos is the gift that keeps on giving.
And you can never clean up all the glitter; never!

  2. Congrats on paying off your mortgage! Are you going to have a mortgage-burning ceremony/party?

    1. We hadn't thought about that, but maybe on Friendsgiving next Friday we can do a ceremony!

  3. Congratulations on paying off your mortgage! When people first take on a mortgage, it feels as though paying it off will last forever. To be debt-free is a great feeling.

    1. Our mortgage was never really high, by comparison with friends, because we put down a large amount when we bought the house; still it's a nice sum of money to put into savings rather than paying out!

  4. Paying off your mortgage is like getting a big raise! As time goes on, you will realize how simply wonderful this is, especially since the value in your home will continue to grow! And I'm going to skip on Warren and his long hair.

And I love the debt-freedom of life these days!

  5. Welcome to real home-ownership. I am waiting for the self driving truck to leave the good old boy, the next generation of country song. OJ spent years searching golf courses in Florida for the real killer, he might have avoided mirrors.

  6. Carlos needs to enter that description into Wikipedia STAT. It's brilliant.
And THAT is Santa?? And THAT'S a country music artist???? I am currently re-evaluating a lot of things and concentrating on Warren's thighs....

Hubby and I talked about that 4-year cruise and mostly identified reasons not to. #1--kinda like fleeing to Canada and not being part of the solution. #2--how many times would the toilets back-up in a 4-year period? 🤮 #3--fear that the conversations among Trump-fleers would get stuck quickly on all Trump all the time. #4--This is the big one! "Accidental overboards," unexplained disappearances, and outright murders! No thank you!!
🤣🥳 Allow me to be the 1st to announce Matt Gaetz has withdrawn from AG consideration!!
😻 Tuxedo is the one critter I know of who needed no glitter to shine brightly!! 🫶🥰

  13. It's a nice feeling when you finally own your home outright. You should be safe and secure for the rest of your lives.
Even converting to our dollars, the $40,000 a year for the cruise is not bad at all.
    I love the Winkler wisdom.
Zeiders would be ok, as long as he doesn't sing when I am around.

  15. Congrats on Casa Bob y Carlos. Awesome news. 4 years on a cruise ship would be a lot but so will be the upcoming presidential term. The Fonz gave the only correct answer. Take care.

There's no way I'd take a four year cruise. 40 minutes maybe, on a ferry around the harbour.

  20. I wonder what’s next for Matt Gaetz now that he’s out as AG. Whatever happens, I imagine Trump will pardon him. I’m impressed and surprised by Carlos’ country music awareness. A definite maybe to Warren Zieders. Bless you, Henry Winkler.

    1. I hope Matt Gaetz is arrested and imprisoned.
      Who knew Carlos was country?
Who knew country, as in Warren, was a hottie?
      Winkler nailed it!

  21. So everyone is moving to Bluesky. And Trump is probably going to get rid of the EV rebate. Which will totally slow down people buying EV's. Musk kissing up to Trump seems to really have helped him.
