Bobservations

Having read Stephen King’s The Stand … a few times … and seen the original TV mini-series, I wanted to watch the remake, so Carlos and I sat down to do so. He’d never read the book—King is not someone he cares for—or seen the original, so I explained that it takes place after a worldwide pandemic killed most of the population, and how it’s basically a battle of good versus evil. Carlos said it sounded like another movie we watched, and I asked which one and he said:

“There was a woman, and her husband was part of a men’s club—”

“The Stepford Wives?”

“No. There was a forest and trees and the children were not nice and there was an exit. And there were monsters in the woods; well, not monsters, but dogs or wolves.”

Ah, the movie with the husband and wife and kids and trees and an exit. God, I love that one.

Sidenote: he has never figured out what the movie and is sticking by his description.

Never underestimate a MAGAt’s ability to push two opposing ideas at the same time and think it makes sense.

Can someone, anyone, point out to me one single mega church in this country that has offered any help to Ukraine?

That’s what I thought.

I love when the weather changes and you can break out the Spring and Summer looks, like this nice jacket and tie, the high-waisted short shorts, the boots and the cool leather codpiece.

I’ll be the hit of the Farmer’s Market this weekend.

Mark Meadows, Thing 45’s former Chief of Staff, is accusing the January 6 Committee of leaking the text messages he provided to the panel in an effort to vilify him.

Oh Mark, you voter fraud, complicit asshat. They released your texts with your words so if anyone is trying to vilify you, look at yourself in a mirror. If you can.

MaxGoldberg has not been feeling well lately, and off to the vet we went again, only to discover that he has the same kidney issues as Tuxedo. Luckily, the suggestion was to put MaxGoldberg on the same diet as Tuxedo—who’s doing very well, thank you—and see how it goes.

The funniest part about all this is that, while Tuxedo has been eating the new food for several months, and MaxGoldberg has been trying to sneak a bite of it every chance he gets, but as soon as we put out the new food for him, he turns up his nose at it and walks away.

It was good when it was someone else’s food, but now that it’s his? Not so much.

Another thought on that SCOTUS anti-abortion draft … if all those men are so anti-abortion, perhaps they should get vasectomies. More vasectomies, less abortion, am I right?

Samuel Johnson, a former CEO of health care company VisuWell, is suing comedian Kathy Griffin, for ALLEGEDLY doxing him on Twitter, causing him to lose his job.

In case you don’t remember, Johnson lost his job shortly after Griffin Tweeted about his conduct toward a high school student. He was caught on tape stalking and berating then-student Dalton Stevens, who was wearing a red prom dress and headed to the dance with his boyfriend, Jacob Geittmann. Johnson told him he looked like an idiot and harassed him non-stop.

Um, Sam? That’s why you got canned. You acted like a homophobic jackass to a stranger and were caught on tape and Kathy Tweeted it. Next time, keep your ignorance to yourself, and you can keep your job.

A little more on the chance of Roe v Wade being overturned … the GOP has said, repeatedly, that stricter gun laws will not result in fewer guns deaths, but they want you to believe  that stricter abortion laws will result in fewer abortions.

PS Remember the statistic last week that the number one cause of death in children in the United Sates is death from guns, but, again, the GOP doesn’t want to address that because they don’t care about children once they are outside the womb.

This is Maor Luz, a 31-year-old fashion designer from Israel. A fashion designer and yet some of his best photos he’s not wearing the fashions, and I’m good with that but, Would You Hit It?

  1. The mega-churches are too busy buying their pastors private jets and multi-million dollar houses. Perhaps when those are paid off, then they might think about helping those poor.....dead people in Ukraine. Besides they are not real Christians, they're weird Orthodox fake Christians, not like us.

  3. Poor MaxGoldberg and Tuxedo! Kidney insufficiency issues are very common in older cats. HRH had it too and had to eat special cat kibble as well to slow down its effects.

  4. I have an awful time remembering movies...the plot, the story, the characters, the actors, any details of time, place, or action. If this is Alzheimer's, I've had it since I was 18. Pretty much the same with books/novels. Which is one reason I've given up on reading them.

  5. I think the codpiece might be a bit of a stretch. Samuel Johnson is a dick... since every man knows what his johnson is. And the GOP doesn't know that feeding the delusions of a minority group are not going to win them elections.

  6. The hypocrisy of the right when it comes to anti-abortion is truly obscene. So I Googled the description that Carlos gave for the movie and the first two choices were "Into the Forest" and "Where the Wild Things Are." You're welcome? Hope MaxGoldberg feels better.

      I don't think we've seen those movies, but .... thanks? =)
MaxGoldberg will do better when he realizes he gets to have the new food and doesn't have to sneak it!

Ah, MaxGoldberg, feel better soon sweet kitty. Bobulah, everyone knows that food (especially fries) taste better when glommed from someone else's plate.
I like the graphics of that vasectomy thingy. It makes a good point.
Mr. Luz is a little too scrawny for my particular (yes, I'm particular) tastes. Meh.

  9. It makes me so happy when I see “Tales of Carlos.” San Geraldo sang a ditty to me this morning and asked what it was (he had it in his head but didn’t know where it came from). It went DOOT-DOOT and then faster DOOT-DOOT-DOOT. That’s how all songs go in SG’s head. Maybe Carlos will recognize it. Ask him, please.

I have a feeling that bizarro outfit would look much better on Maor Luz (the model doesn’t have the legs for it). Anyway, I’d quickly help him LUZ the outfit. (So, yes.)

  11. You are right about the babies out of the womb. Once the baby is born, Republicans have no cares about maternity leave, child care, health benefits, etc. And don't get me started on right to lifers who also believe in the death penalty.

    1. The GOP keeps enacting less stringent gun laws, and we now know gun deaths are the leading case of death in children, so they don't care about living breathing children's lives. But a child in the womb, an embryo? Must be saved no matter the cost.

  12. Oh, yeah. I'd hit it. But I'd want him to wear the cod piece so I could take it off. Interesting how so many people are offended by the truth . . . about themselves. If you check IMDB I'm sure you'll find a movie titled Woman Husband Forest Trees Children Exit Monsters Dogs. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

    Love,

  13. What has a sailor ever done to anyone that's so bad we would ban them? I mean, beside the clap.

    Maor? Meh.

15 states have enacted legislation safekeeping the option of abortion, correct? So... what is this really about, SCOTUS?

Whatever company Sam Johnson was a CEO for? Not a company I'd invest in. If they can't screen out a tool like Johnson, imagine what else they have working for them?

Hope Max and Tux are both doing better. Kidney problems are nothing to mess with.

Meadows. Typical GOP BS - Deflect, deflect, deflect. HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE!

Farmer's market outfit. We want pictures, Bob!

GOP, thy name is hypocrisy! Talking out of the sides of their neck is a party prerequisite.

Stephen King is an adequate storyteller whose work was much better when he allowed an editor to cut all the crap and demand rewrites. Ever since Bag of Bones was one of the worst books I have ever read.

I have no idea what movie Carlos is talking about. Village of The Damned?

    Kizzes.

i used to like King's work, but then I began to suspect he was being paid by the word and I didn't need another 800 page book.
Carlos now says it was a mini-series on TV but is still stuck in woman and forest and exit.

Something tells me that attire would not suffice if you wear it the next Farmer's Market. Something about being too... constrictive? I see you, Carlos...

And the GOP is a band of liars, cheaters and thieves. What's new there? They are thirsty for power and will not let go now that they've got the country by the ovaries. We're next.

    Max Goldberg? Duh. Typical kitty!
