Holland Taylor, actor, speaking about her partner, Sarah
Paulson, at the unveiling of Paulsen’s star
on the Hollywood Walk of Fame:
“Sarah, the actress, is first of all a wild creature in the
animal kingdom. Warm-blooded, instinctive, mysterious. And Sarah is
dangerous—trust me in this—not dangerous like a snake, more like a mongoose.
You know, those darling furry, little creatures that kill snakes. Nothing
interferes with her laser perception of her character’s traits, its habitat,
vulnerabilities, its heroism, its ugliness, terrible truths, its comic pathos.
She zeros into a story’s central struggle, where most of us aren’t even aware
of our own. Her acting is as honest as our faith and as complicated as
chemistry. She’s not deceiving us, she is practicing magic. Truth to tell, it
is these relationships where Sarah is most complex, dedicated and giving.
Sometimes it’s hard to believe she’s an actress. She breaks the mold, throws
assumptions out the window, does it her way. She will always surprise us.
Hollywood does well to honor her. And just in case she doesn’t know it, she has
a permanent shining star on my street. I love you, darling.”
Paulson and Taylor began dating in 2015 and have had to
repeatedly defend their 31-year age gap relationship causing Paulsen to
explain:
“If anyone wants to spend any time thinking I’m strange for
loving the most spectacular person on the planet, then that’s their problem.”
It’s love, y’all, and respect and trust and admiration, and
then more love. I only hope that Carlos thinks of me as a ‘darling, dangerous
little mongoose.’

There is so much hate in the world. Democracy is being undermined everywhere and we are walking into a disastrous future with our eyes wide open.
ReplyDeleteSadly, Cankles et al have made hate acceptable and expected and it's spreading.
DeleteI love how people call Cankles on his fuckery.
ReplyDeleteElena Kagan is right! The mockery those idiots are making of SCOTUS is shameful.
XOXO
Kagan is a rational voice among the cacophony of sycophants and followers.
Deletexoxo
I enjoyed reading all these marvelous quotations!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy putting up only positive quotes since Cankles came back into office.
DeleteI am hoping that the tide will continue to turn, and more and more people will speak out against the emperor who wares no clothes. Nicole Wallace was spot on in what she said.
ReplyDeleteWallace nails it; people need to stand up against his misogyny.
DeleteKagen rocks, and age is relative.
ReplyDeleteAnd love is love.
Delete🤘💪👏 Strong Women! Strong voices!
ReplyDeleteBut, I do have to be a downer voice in Nicole's argument. She stills sees a press corps that has a modicum of integrity. The billionaires are close to removing that completely! Follow the money. When media is no longer a free press; when the oligarchs (the only people benefiting from Trumpworld) own all legacy media, all social media, all news services, all TV, all movie studios, and all AI-generated disinformation...there are no voices to speak up!
The White House "press" corps will not grow a spine! There is no corps (or core) of truth seekers speaking truth to power. Each member is a wholly-owned subsidiary of one or more oligarchs!
And, if we cannot break the back of the growing monopoly of Trump, Kushner, Saudis, Ellison, Bezos, Musk, Zuckerberg, etc. that's the only thing we can expect for the future!! 🤬
I'd like to see one or two members of the press stand up and ask why he calls women names but rarely calls men names. Is it bullying? Is it fear that women aren't afraid of him? I need one person to ask that question.
DeleteDonald Duck is working on turning the US into Russia, a dictatorship where you go to prison if you say a word against your dear leader. I guess you can tell who would not be allowed entrance to the US if the Border protection bullies looked at just my comments on Bob's and the Mistress' blogs.
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling hopeful that the Democrats can regain Congress and then start holding the regime accountable.
Deletethe dog's mother
ReplyDeletexoxo :-)
I can be almost certain he think you are a darling, dangerous little something...what that something is I wouldn't know.
ReplyDeleteIQ45 needs to be slapped in the mouth every time he calls a woman a derogatory name. Those who fail to stand up for their colleagues need to grow some balls.
I'd like to see the press corps just get up and walk out of the room.
DeleteCarlos may be referring to you as a feral cat that comes around for dinner and treats.
ReplyDeleteWill Jay
I'll take that!
DeleteWhere #47 is questioned is effectively the press workplace. Such name calling would never be tolerated in most workplaces. What should the press do? Walking out en masse would be rather melodramatic, as much as I would like to see it happen. Each time it happens, a deathly silence pervades the room, no more questions, phones down, notepads away, photographers cease to snap, only film cameras keep rolling to record the event. The press stand there in total silence. Do that a couple of times and the message may get through.
ReplyDeleteSadly, if anyone spoke up whey might lose their access to the White House and then their job, but someone needs to tell him that he's a pig.
DeleteHolland Taylor and Sarah Paulson. I love them!
ReplyDeleteLots of powerful quotes and statements here today.
I adore Holland Taylor and Sarah Paulson.
DeleteTalbert summed it up the best. This is our societal climate today. Just the double standard and hypocrisy is astounding. Before it was hush, hush. Now the out loud part is getting louder and louder by the day to the point it's becoming ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteAmerica is still as racist as it always was, and still getting elected to public office.
DeleteI AM still wondering why no one is standing up about the way Trump speaks to women reporters. It's so shameful. Clearly he didn't learn any respect as a child.
ReplyDeleteThe only ones doing it are the women.
DeleteI challenged a friend to think about what HWSNBN would think of your mother, your sister, your daughter, your aunt, the elementary school teacher who helped you learn to read, your neighbors, before you vote for him, grab him by the . . .
ReplyDeleteExactly.
DeleteSarah Paulson and Holland Taylor are a couple?! I HAD NO IDEA! Well, bravo for them!
ReplyDeleteEvery one of these quotes had me cheering, though I suspect Thomas Massie and I have very little in common aside from his opposition to Trump.
