I Didn't Say It ...

Jim Obergefell, American civil rights activist and lead plaintiff in the 2015 US Supreme Court case Obergefell v. Hodges, which legalized same-sex marriage throughout the country, on the SCOTUS decision:

“The Court did the right thing in denying cert, and people across our nation can breathe a little easier today but threats to marriage equality will likely continue, so we must not assume marriage, or any rights enjoyed by or due to any marginalized community, is safe. Kim Davis should have lived up to her oath and duties as a public servant by serving everyone in Rowan County, Kentucky; instead, she chose to use her faith to persecute others. It is past time for others in our nation to understand that a person’s faith is not harmed by others who are different. Someone exercising a civil right does not prevent a believer from continuing to practice their faith at home or in their house of worship. As the Sixth Circuit said when denying Kim Davis’s appeal, the Bill of Rights ‘would serve little purpose if it could be so freely ignored whenever an official’s conscience so dictates,.  I hope the Supreme Court halts further attempts by public officials to use their personal faith to deny others their civil and human rights.”

This is not the end of our fight, but it is a great step forward.

My being gay has zero affect on anyone’s faith; you can be whatever faith you choose without having to worry about me. And if you think it affects you, then you might want to rethink your faith.

Thomas Massie, GOP Congressman from Knetucky, taking his own party to task:

“This vote is gonna be on your record for longer than [Cankles] is gonna be president. And what are you going to do in 2028 and 2030 when you’re in a debate … and they ask, ‘How can we trust you? You covered up for a pedophile back in 2025.’”

Massie is deeply MAGAt so he gets no props for that, BUT he gets props for stepping up, stepping out, and stepping on his own party of pedophile protectors.

Adelita Grijalva, newly sworn in Democrat member of the House, in her first floor speech where she wastes no time:

“Basic freedoms are under attack. Health care premiums are skyrocketing. Babies are being ripped away from their parents by ICE agents. We can and must do better.  What is most concerning is not what this administration has done, but what the majority of this body has failed to do—hold Trump accountable. It has been 50 days since the people of Arizona’s 7th Congressional District elected me to represent them. Fifty days that over 800,000 Arizonans have been left without access to the basic services that every constituency deserves. This is an abuse of power. One individual should not be able to unilaterally obstruct the swearing in of a duly elected member of Congress.”

Immediately after her speech, Grijalva became the decisive signature on a discharge petition that would force floor action on a bipartisan bill urging for the release of more files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Josh Shapiro, Pennsylvania’s Democrat governor,  taking on the CouchF*cker over releasing SNAP benefits:

“As for JD Vance … America has a president [and] a vice president that don’t give a damn about all Americans. They have made that crystal clear. And I mean, at least with [Cankles], he’s transparent about that. JD Vance is a total phony. And let me explain why: JD Vance rose to some prominence by writing a book about growing up in Appalachia where there’s a whole lot of people who get SNAP. He made millions of dollars on the backs of telling their stories, and then he turned his damn back on those very people who he likes to write about and claim as his own. Here’s another thing JD Vance claims. He claims to be a person of faith. I know my Bible. And my Bible teaches us that we are to love thy neighbor and we are too feed the hungry. Deuteronomy says, ‘if you see a person who is in need, you don’t give them a clenched fist, you open up your hand.’ So for JD Vance now to turn around after claiming all these things his whole life and literally go to court to stop hungry people from eating, that is not only phony, it is shameful. And this is who is leading America today. And folks gotta wake up and realize the people who are leading in America quite literally wanna keep people hungry. And you’ll excuse me for getting emotional about it, but when I see hungry people in my state who are hungry because of JD Vance’s bullsh*t politics, that makes me angry. And that’s why I went to court. And that is why we’re funding Share. And that is why we are putting dollars back on people’s SNAP cards, because that’s what. The people of Pennsylvania deserve, and America deserves better than JD Vance.”

JD Vance is the guy who said one thing back in the day … like comparing Cankles to Hitler … like portraying himself as an impoverished waif … and another thing today when he claims Cankles is the greatest president ever and rallying about the ‘Let Children Starve’ party.

Pete Buttigieg, former Secretary of Transportation and future President of the United States, took on Cankles for his fact-challenged criticism lies about the air traffic control system:

“The President wouldn’'t last five minutes as an air traffic controller, and after everything they’ve been through—and the way this administration has treated them from Day One—he has no business shitting on them now. Other than mostly pronouncing my name right, everything he said was wrong. He told a story about air traffic control that was both false and confusing. He just made a bunch of shit up about air traffic control. This is a system that was in pretty rough shape by the time he lost in 2020 and we took it over. So we improved it, including launching a long-term communications fix that is still under way that he is now passing off as his idea. And thanks to our work, this year he became the first president in decades to inherit an air traffic control workforce that was actually growing instead of shrinking. The most important part of the whole system is the air traffic controllers themselves, which is why it is disgraceful that the president went on social media earlier today and attacked controllers after everything that they’ve been through and at a moment when America has a serious air traffic control shortage. So why would the president be picking a fight with air traffic controllers today of all days? Probably it’s to change the subject from how he and Republicans are increasing your health insurance premiums on purpose right now and how he has totally failed on his promise to make everyday life more affordable. Right now the president is losing on the economy because people can see how he’s failing and people feel it every time they open up an insurance bill, every time they go grocery shopping. So for everyone who wants to see change, let’s stay focused. Let’s keep the pressure on. Let’s take the same energy that saw Democrats dominating Election Day last week and carry it into next year and beyond.”

Cankles and his Transportation Minion, Sean Duffy, are clueless as to what they are talking about. And should check their own records before jumping on any hate ride.

Jasmine Crockett, Democrat Representative from Texas, on MTG’s phony new persona:

“I will tell you that while there is a new Marjorie, as some people have said, I do want to give people an opportunity to do their research. And the reality is that the big ugly bill, it only passed with one vote. And if one more Republican would have defected—we had maybe two Republicans that defected. If we would have just had one more, then we would not be talking about higher insurance premiums. Marjorie Taylor Greene voted for this. Point blank period. Her constituents were the ones that were on the receiving end of this…So you tell me if I am feeling so sad for Marjorie or buying into this because I don't understand why she didn't do the right thing when she had a chance!”

MTG is trying to position her as a more moderate Republican as she faces reelection and a possible run at the White House. She forgets all the crazy things she’ said and done over the years that will stop her in her tracks.

Mark my words. And all of those protecting Cankles? Massie is right: they’re sealing their future. But their constituents KNOW that….

  7. So many professed Christians seem unable to follow the teachings of Christ, or is it that they don't want to? The world would be a better place if they did.

  10. We DO need another hero. Great people. And, yes, MTG is STILL MTG. Glad she’s getting some things right recently, but she’s ignorant, self-serving, and can’t be trusted.

  12. President Marjorie Taylor Greene - that title has a nice ring to it. Like the ship's bell aboard "The Titanic". Is she trying to demonstrate that leopards really can change their spots?
