Gabby Williams, WNBA player for the Golden State Valkyries,
on transgender players on her team or any other in the league:
“I think it’s trans, trans rights, right now, is our new
battle. We see trans people’s rights being stripped away from them; there’s a
lot of discourse around trans athletes and what they can compete in. I would
welcome a trans athlete on my team or against my team, anytime. I don’t think
it’s a problem in the world. It’s just another way to kind of attack trans
people. We’ve seen players like Layshia Clarendon, who stepped into that
forefront, and have been brave enough, and courageous enough, to step up. So I
guess that’s the next battle we have to fight as athletes.”
The number of trans athletes in women’s sports is miniscule
but the GOP’s fear-mongering of trans-women makes it seem like they’re taking
over the world.
They want to live their lives and they choose, playing
sports or not.

Still checking for the BBO (Big Beautiful Obituary.)
ReplyDeleteI don't think we'll miss it ... front page news and everywhere all at once!!!
DeleteTrans people are the new boogeyman.
ReplyDeleteRemember when gay people were the social wedge? I do.
Al-Sayed, Mamdani, Ossoff. Those names need to be heard more.
And everybody knows Cankles is a demented, senile pedophile. Especially his enemies. And that is dangerous for this country.
XOXO
It's always a small group of people ... people of color, gay people, trans people ... the GOP fears the most!
Deletexoxo
We used to hear about gay people shoving their sexuality down people's throats. There were a couple of these type men who I would not have minded shoving my sexuality down their throats.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet all we really want is to live our lives as everyone else.
DeleteSayed will win and the Christian Nationalists will start stabbing themselves in the eye. I follow Jeff Tiedrich. He has truly run out of fucks to give.
ReplyDeleteEl-Sayed is already not playing with the wingnuts and that will only make them more angry and his base happier.
DeleteOssoff: That's a tiny step in the right direction. If they take both chambers, they need to be preparing legislation to make sure there is never another administration like this one ever again. So if they take all three branches in '28. that legislation is ready to roll out on day 1.
ReplyDeleteI hope that's the plan ... I do want Democrats to focus om getting this country back on track and out of the hands of the Billionaire Class, but I'd also like some retribution in the form of jail for these criminals.
DeleteTrans people are the bigots' new whipping boy, that's for sure. The LGBTQ+ community needs to stand behind them now.
ReplyDeleteStand together or fall apart. We went through it and now we have to hold the door open for the rest of us.
DeleteThe slogan for the Crankles GOP should be... Keeping HATE alive. Plaster that on all the billboards around the country.
ReplyDeleteHate AND fear!
DeleteI worry that Donald Duck will somehow manage to fake tehe results of the upcoming elections so that it looks as though the Repugnants have won....until it turns out that in every state they won 100% of the vote.
ReplyDeleteI think he may have a tough time; yes, he does have SCOTUS, but he tried to sue 70 times to overturn the last election and lost 70 times.
Deletethe dog's mother
ReplyDeletexoxo :-)
Solid way to start the weekend, sweetpea! Standing in solidarity with everyone against the. fake patriotism of the GOP and the menance currently occupying the People's House! xoxo
ReplyDeleteStand together and vote!!

Jeff Tiedrich's comment had me in stiches!!! And Joe Walshs comment is just perfect and very true. The against Trump line up continues....but we still cant get rid of him.
ReplyDeleteMore are coming out against him which means they see his power and support waning.
DeleteI found a great political cartoon about Cankle's New Rug for Sunday!
The idea that trans people have become the hot button issue for MAGAts is vile, especially when the even bigger threat to society is people who have their ears shot off and then grow them back. They should be jailed.
ReplyDeleteBut they believe whatever the ear tells them and they fall for fear ... of trans women in sports and brown people taking their jobs and Haitians and Muslims and The Gays and women and and and ....
DeleteYou know they have nothing to campaign on when the Republicans moan about communists and trans people. Ridiculous. Let people live their life.
ReplyDeleteWhen you back a criminal and let him destroy the economy while handing cash to the 1% you really don't have a leg to stand on.
DeleteThe distractions get lamer becoz they have no Policy and they know they are responsible for too much that is unpopular across the board... so it's all sounding very desperate.
ReplyDeleteExactly ... desperation, I just heard some GOP Congressman on MSNow say the party has done a lot for the middle class and now they need to help the rich.
DeleteYou are so right to point out that, "The number of trans athletes in women’s sports is minuscule". So small that the issue that fascists like Trump keep scratching away at is in reality so tiny as to be utterly insignificant. They dig away at it to scaremonger and rouse anti-progressive annoyance in their dumb base.
ReplyDeleteIt's the new thing to fear ... oh, and the Communists, too!
DeleteI heard on the news about the Iranians not negotiating, good for them. You simply cannot negotiate with idiots who keep changing their minds when things don't go their way. I like what the above people have said. Abdul El-Sayed; Joe Walsh "he should be in jail not the White House; Jon Ossoff "we will rebuke him so decisively"
ReplyDeleteThese are the type of people you should have running your country.
Fingers crossed!
Delete"What the fuck is wrong with you?" really IS the universal question for Donald Trump, regarding virtually any topic.
ReplyDeleteAnd I would LOVE to hear a reporter ask him that!
