Back story … several times over the last few years Carlos
has played his trumpet at the local Catholic church mass for Christmas and
Easter; he has also played at events for the Hispanic parishioners.
And, because I cannot always drive him to his translations,
he asked if he could put up a note on the church bulletin board to ask for
rides and one woman, Diane, answered and said she’d be thrilled to drive him
whenever he needs it.
Now, he and I take walks nearly every day that I am off on
various trails in and around Camden, but he wanted to walk more so he asked the
woman who drives him—is he becoming Miss Daisy—if she knew of a group from the
church. Well, she didn’t but she created one and they had their first walk
today and Diane told Carlos that some of the women questioned walking with him
because he’s a :::gasp::: homosexual and Diane told them that if they took
issue with him because he’s gay that they could just stay home and not be part
of the group.
Last week, we had car wash Karen and this week we have
Diane, proving there are all kinds of people, good and bad, in the world and we
need to school the bad and thank the good.
PS Diane brought him Gatorade so he could hydrate during the
walk! |
One step at a time.
ReplyDeleteInch by inch, foor by foot, mile by mile.
DeleteBecky Bradley's petulant, isn't she. Gatorade? Nice! Isn't it interesting how Snoop's story changed as the blowback continued?
ReplyDeleteBecky is a sad Karen.
DeleteDiane stepping up to support Carlos is such a beautiful example of kindness and standing up for what’s right. Tuxedo, as always, keeping things grounded with a touch of humor. The rest of the news Snoop, the CEO incident, and Justice Bradley definitely shows how important it is to pay attention, think critically, and stand up for fairness and respect wherever we can.
ReplyDeletewww.melodyjacob.com
Kindness exists but it gets very little attention so when we see it it seems shocking!
DeleteTuxedo was the smartest cat ever.
Diane rules!
ReplyDeleteI'd go in walks with here any day.
And the problem with Snoop is that he didn't think all that much when he had to explain his past arrests for drug and for ... MURDER, right? But a same sex couple with a child? The HORROR! He's feeling the heat.
Piotr? He's I dick. I watched the video. There was no question the hat was for the kid.
XOXO
Diane is the kind of Christian that other Christians pretend to be.
DeleteSnoop. Stoop .... id.
Piotr; you can't watch that video and not see what a pig he is ... MAGAt in Poland.
xoxo
What is "Gatorade"? I don't think that it is sold in England. I imagine that it contains genuine alligator urine which does not appeal to me.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's not GatorPiss, though I have never had it!
DeleteI thought Gatorade was universal, an electrolyte drink to rehydrate for sports people or those recovering from illnesses perhaps when they need to drink more. Equivalents you might know are Powerade, Lucozade, Hydralyte etc. Most have far too much sugar and sodium, of these Lucozade has the least.
Delete🥰 I know in my heart that there are still more Dianes than Karens or Beckys in the world, and we need to lift them up like you did today! Remind the Karens, like Becky Bradley and Joni Ernst, that shame still exists and they should crawl back under their rocks where nasty little insects belong! 👏👋
ReplyDelete🤬 That brings us to that shameless Polish rich guy who grabbed the hat! He shamed himself before he grabbed the hat. He entered a scrum of young fans, the only "adult" at the front, and was telling the player that he had wrongfully "not given my sons autographs when they asked you earlier" (at an inappropriate pre-match time), so "I am here to collect!" [my paraphrase] The player was giving up his hat randomly and, whether Daddy Karen was confused is hardly the issue, he should not have been there among the kids!! What a 🍆!!
😸 On the other hand, Tuxedo Rocks!! 🤘😻
Definitely more Dianes than Karens but the Karens grab the spotlight.
DeletePiotr is an asshat of epic proportions because he grabbed the hat, looked at the kid and then stuck it inside his wife's purse.
It's refreshing to hear of people like Diane - especially in these times. Bradley's expression looks like she has a serious case of "Grumpy Bear." Poor dear....somebody give her a bear hug so tight that she passes....(out). The Bruce Little Bluesky? 100%
ReplyDeleteBradley just looks bitter and sad.
DeleteDiane on the other hand always looks happy and smiling.
I like to think that most people are kind. But that 15 year old judge doesn't seem to fit onto the kindness spectrum.
ReplyDeleteMost are, but it seems the Becky's get the headlines.
Deletethe dog's mother
ReplyDelete(Carlos) (Tuxedo always)
xoxo :-)
💗
DeleteWe have to resist the bad and celebrate the good.
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of good people out there, indeed.
DeleteYay, church lady Diane! Tuxedo was so wise. The Piotr Szczerek story is appalling. What an asshole. What does he sell? I’ll never buy.
ReplyDeleteDiane was spot on, and so is Tuxedo, still.
DeletePiotr is a Polish MAGAt, plain and simple.
*The come for Carlos, they come for all of us. I will organize a Greyhound bus to take us to Camden. Our entrance would put Priscilla Queen of Desert to shame. It will not be pretty.
ReplyDelete*What's funny about Snoop is that he is in the entertainment business and I am sure he has come across gay folk in all shapes, stripes, and sizes. There was a teachable moment for his grandkids and he blew it.
*Is Blake potty trained? They seem to get younger and younger these days.
I think Diane schooled anyone who might take issue with the idea of talking a walk with a gay man.
DeleteSnoop needs to evolve.
Blake is young but he looks hot in the briefs!
Treasure Diane and look after her. Her loving response may result in increased health for those who participate.
ReplyDeleteHer response was much kinder than mine would have been -- either:
1) He's blind, so he won't comment on your tacky outfit or cheap shoes
2) He is a practicing homosexual. He is still working on his technique (bonus points if you can work in Trainee cap).
Will Jay
Carlos would have loved to comment on the tacky outfits!!!
DeleteTuxedo knows, he was on to the DONald early on !
ReplyDeleteBradley looks like a damned sourpuss, glad to see she’s leaving, Wisconsin deserves a hell of a lot better.
And speaking of hell, Snoops and SzczeWRETCH can both go to hell.
Bruce Little is SPOT ON !
Carlos has a friend that is a true Catholic who lives in the light of Christ’s compassion something desperately needed in many churches.
-Rj
Bradley just looks like a sad angry girl. Go home already!
DeleteDiane sounds like a very lovely woman. What do these other women think, that Carlos' gay-ity will rub off on them? Some people are sooooo stupid.
ReplyDeleteI get there is a 2nd Amendment in the USA (and grateful it doesn't exist here in Canada). but I don't get how anyone can justify that easy access is appropriate. Stats indicate we've had 2 school shootings in 2025 in Canada, and 228 school shootings in the USA. If that doesn't shock lawmakers, I don't know what will.
The right twists the 2nd Amendment to suggest it means you can have as many guns as you like forgetting that the amendment was written when people only had muskets that fired ONE shot at a time and had to be reloaded in between each shot.
DeleteNothing like the guns that can shoots dozens and dozens of bullets if a fe seconds.
That was an uplifting story about Diane. The world needs more Dianes.
ReplyDeleteYes, it does.
DeleteTHE NERVES of those women who questioned walking with Carlos. Did they expect Diane to say Carlos was out of the walking group, essentially created for him, to appease them? WTF.
ReplyDeleteCreated BY him; he started it and Diane told them that if anyone had an issue they didn't need to be part of it!
DeleteI'm glad there are some nice people spending time with Carlos. It's great to hear good news.
ReplyDeleteThere are good people out there.
DeleteThe thought processes of some people really bother me. How could a middle aged gay man be a threat to a probably middle aged woman?
ReplyDeleteIt was a questionable decision in the first place to have Snoop Dog perform at our football grand final later this month. It has since been called further into question after his latest bile.
It's religion; gay is bad and you'll be bad by association. Warped thinking, really.
DeleteSnoop really stepped in it.
Diane is a keeper and I hope Carlos enjoys many walks with his group. I've never liked Snoop Dogg.
ReplyDeleteSnoop has made some changes in his life, but this was a step backwards.
DeleteWell done Diane!!! I can't imagine not wanting to walk because there was a gay man in the group! Hell, when I drove my sons' gay friend up to his dog sledding outing in Avoriaz I was so GLAD he was gay because hey, someone to talk to (although at one point I had to tell him I hadn't been listening to him for the last half hour)!
ReplyDeleteIt is a group of Catholics and so there may be some people who don't want him there, but then he'll just go walking with Diane, and me when I can join.
Delete
