Well, this is an interesting house; a new build in the heart of Intown's most desirable neighborhood, Ansley Park. The home is a testament to the finest in transitional architecture, where modern elegance seamlessly blends with timeless sophistication.
Inside, the modernity of a flowing open-concept floor plan greets you, with a main hallway. On one side, the dining room showcases curved walls and floor-to-ceiling custom iron doors. Opposite the dining room is a gracious main-level guest suite, perfect for a private home office.
As you continue your journey, a central fireplace is enveloped in Venetian plaster, positioned as the focal point of the expansive rear living space, with casual dining area and a designer kitchen with a large center island with stone countertops, custom cabinetry, and a large walk-in pantry. The open-concept family room and breakfast room are flanked with a wall of accordion doors, allowing seamless connectivity to the backyard with its meticulous professional landscaping, swimming pool, and low-maintenance turfed lawn.
A central, spectacular, floating stairwell featuring a dramatic wall of windows floods the home with natural light and leads to the primary suite with its spa-inspired bathroom featuring a freestanding soaking tub, and a marble-clad walk-in shower. Two additional upstairs en-suite bedrooms and a centrally located laundry room complete the second level.
Downstairs, the basement level features modern polished concrete floors, soaring ceilings, and amenities like a fitness studio, an additional guest suite, and an oversized entertainment room, perfect for a future theatre and game room. Outside is a two-car garage and carriage house, where a discreet sixth bedroom with an en-suite bath and kitchenette boasts a private entrance, catering to the needs of an au pair or long-term guests.
All in all, there are six bedrooms, six-and-one-half bathrooms spread across 6,239 square feet, and while I do love the clean lines, the home needs some warmth and some color—the exterior, kitchen and dining room are a good start—and some cats to make it completely livable … and I need $4.5 million.
The wood tones are nice, but I'll skip this one, too much gray and white.
ReplyDeleteI think the grays and whites are for the staging because they do need to be changed!
DeleteSo when those patio doors are left wide open, don't bugs, birds and critters wander inside?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I wonder about that ... snakes and creepy crawlies making themselves at home!
DeleteI have always found it interesting that my friends in England always have half-doors and windows open and they don't use screens. Apparently not common in Europe in general, as Warbucks apartment in Budapest didn't have screeens either. Suprisinlgly Im told not many bugs come in and very rarely any birds.
DeleteAny color in any of those rooms would be a welcome break to the boring white, gray, and black!
ReplyDeleteI like the black, but the whites and grays could be taken out and splashes of color moved in!
DeleteSeemingly well-built and impressive. But it doesn’t sing to me in the least bit. I’ll save that money for something else.
ReplyDeleteIt needs some color and some pizzazz! And that Great Room needs some more division.
DeleteAnd the grounds and pool area need more style.
Deletethe dog's mother
ReplyDeleteAll those ceiling lights - ak
to change them!
xoxo :-)
It does need more task lighting ands lamps and such,. but I think this is just for staging the house for sale.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the design of the exterior and the contrast of the upper and lower level!!! And the inside is so me. I absolutely love the kitchen and main bath....the only thing to bother me is the open floor plan in spots. Im so not an open floor plan person. And I would have to darken the interior with so rich color. But the exterior is what sells me.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you 100%. That Great Room is too wide open.
DeleteI like the space. Too big for me but I can work with it. Is that front door practical? I know it is ad vanguard but is it more of a statement piece. The walls look flat. Not beefy. I would take out the gray/black and do another color. And what's with all the pot lights. I am not doing surgery. Lamps baby!! I need a little more privacy if I am going to walk up the stairs buck naked to chase my man. Lots of options in this home.
ReplyDeleteThose pivot doors are cool but all I see is a cat or dog running through it and disappearing.
DeletePS Thank you for the card; very sweet and much appreciated.
Harumph! I tried to get on board. I do love movable window walls, but I agree with Ellen D. that I would worry about things that can get in and furballs that can get out! And, I agree with VRCooper about lamps baby! Relying on overhead lighting gives no warmth. And speaking of warmth, nothing could keep me warm in those giant white rooms! I like open floorplans, but they are supposed to be open for people to be gathered and sharing and conversing as several activities happen at once. If I have to yell across wasted square-footage to tell you about my day while I prepare a meal, well, that image leaves me cold! 🥶
ReplyDeleteThe open part of the house is too open; and that wall of windows letting creatures in and pets out would need a rethink!
DeleteI quite like it but I don't understand what a floating stairwell is. It looks securely anchored to me.
ReplyDeleteI think it's that you can see through the risers.
DeleteFrom the outside, it's stunning.
ReplyDeleteThat's a nicely built house. I love the pool, too. I'm with Mads about that open floor plan requires very specific furniture. I'd say it's five million because you're going to spend five hundred thousand buying shit from Restoration Hardware to fill up that house.
XOXO
Truth about buying tons of shiz to fill this mother up!

A beautiful home well-conceived.
ReplyDeleteLove the pivoting door and the pool.
I would go with a mix of modern and traditional furniture and furnishings, and the bedrooms would have to have full carpeting. The bathrooms are fine, but I would give them a touch of art deco. The depressing gray in the house has to go, and the pool area needs better landscaping. -Rj
Color. It needs some color.
DeleteShe's a beauty isn't she - both outside and in!
ReplyDeleteShe needs a little lip gloss and some eye shadow and she'd be gorgeous!
DeleteI could make that work, good bones.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
